Participants will be asked to complete an online questionnaire about their experiences of parenting a child with an Intellectual Disability who displays challenging behaviours; this will take approximately 45 minutes of your time and is entirely voluntary.

About the project (short plain English summary)

This study from the University of Lincoln aims to understand how parents cope with the challenges of raising a child with an Intellectual Disability. The research looks at how these challenges impact parents’ well-being, with the hope of improving support for stressed parents in the future.

Who they are looking for

Parents who:

  1. Have a child aged 5-18 with an Intellectual Disability.
  2. Perceive their child’s behaviours as challenging.
  3. Feel that their psychological well-being (e.g., stress) is impacted because of these factors.

What they will ask you to do

You will be asked to complete an online questionnaire, which will take about 45 minutes.
